Donated 40-Gallon Water Heater Gives Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue Critical Infrastructure Upgrade

Lafayette, CA – April 9, 2026 – Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning has announced an in-kind donation to Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on saving and rehabilitating vulnerable dogs throughout the Bay Area. The company donated and installed a 40-gallon electric water heater, providing the rescue facility with a meaningful step toward greater operational independence and improved animal care standards.
The water heater will support a new in-house laundry facility and supply hot water to a dog washing station – both essential for maintaining sanitation, cleanliness, and proper grooming for animals in the rescue’s care. These improvements are expected to strengthen the health and wellbeing of dogs housed at the facility while also helping reduce ongoing operational costs.
Hugs for Harry relocated to a new facility in Lafayette, California, in January 2026. Although the move provided additional space to accommodate growing rescue operations, it introduced a range of necessary infrastructure improvements. Access to plumbing and hot water ranked among the most pressing needs, but financial limitations had made those upgrades difficult to pursue – until Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning stepped in to help.
