The console is now available at Amazon U.K., Argos, Smyths Toys in both regions, and TikTok Shop in the coming days. Following growing demand for active, family-friendly entertainment at home after a breakout holiday season in North America, this launch comes at a time where families across both regions are placing greater emphasis on digital wellbeing for children under 16. Nex Playground offers a safe and secure alternative to passive screen time, with privacy and security built in at the core of its design, delivering a closed ecosystem with no ads, no mature content, and a secure gaming environment. Nex Playground aligns with GDPR requirements, earning PEGI 3 age ratings on the included starter bundle, and maintaining kidSAFE+ certification alongside COPPA compliance in the U.S.
With this U.K. and Republic of Ireland availability, Nex is also preparing to launch an all-new mini-game on its existing Bluey Bust-A-Move title: Bluey Cricket. Developed in partnership with BBC studios, this multiplayer mini-game inspired by the popular episode ‘Cricket’ from the multiple Emmy Award-winning animated series will be available in July. The mini-game will allow players to capture the authentic feeling of playing the beloved sport, making physical activity social and fun for the whole family.
Furthering Nex’s commitment to local engagement, the company is hosting a free, open-to-the-public showcase of Nex Playground at Wimbledon Park, July 1-4, 2026, marking the company’s first public demonstration of the Nex Playground within the U.K. The showcase will allow families to test their skills in a unique Tennis Smash gaming experience where Nex plans to showcase an early preview of Connected Play – the company’s first introduction in safe head-to-head gameplay between networked devices.

Retail availability comes days after Nex announced its partnership with Wrexham Association Football Club (Wrexham AFC), the historic Welsh football club co-owned by Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds, and the third oldest-professional football club in the world. Through the partnership, Nex will bring active play experiences directly to fans and the Wrexham community, introducing new ways for fans and families to engage with Wrexham AFC beyond the pitch. This includes a dedicated Nex Game Zone at The Racecourse Ground as part of the new Kop Stand and community initiatives designed to expand access to play and physical activity for young people in Wrexham and beyond. Nex will also be featured on the Wrexham AFC kits sleeve during the partnership, with additional visibility through appearances in the Emmy Award-winning docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham, and at select club events and international matches.
Families in these regions will now have access to Nex Playground’s growing library of over 60+ active games, including sports, dance, fitness, and educational experiences and newly launched Dora the Explorer, Avatar the Last Airbender, and even more games coming later this year. The full library of games and frequent updates are available as part of Play Pass, Nex Playground’s content subscription which is sold separately and can be easily added anytime.
The Nex Playground starts at £269 (€319), which comes equipped with five free starter games so families can begin playing right away. Customers can also purchase an annual Play Pass subscription for £90 (€99), or quarterly Play Pass for £45 (€49), to unlock the full growing library of over 60+ games. All pricing includes VAT.
