Texas developer brings new investment and momentum to premier waterfront community on the Texas Coastal Bend.

ROCKPORT, Texas, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Southerland Communities, a family-owned Texas development company, today announced the acquisition of The Reserve at St. Charles Bay, a premier waterfront residential community in Rockport, Texas.

Established in 2008 by McCombs Enterprises, The Reserve at St. Charles Bay is the Coastal Bend’s premiere bayfront and canal community featuring luxury homes and resort-style amenities. Located adjacent to Goose Island State Park on Rockport’s serene Lamar Penisula, the community is a water and nature lover’s paradise. Every home is waterfront and most feature backyard docks allowing residents to reach open water in the Aransas Bay system within minutes.

120 privately owned homes have already been built at The Reserve. The community also features a 500-foot fishing pier, resort-style pool, parks, protected wetlands, and more than two miles of waterfront boardwalks. About half of the property’s 130 acres remains for continued residential development. Southerland Communities plans to continue investing in the property with additional canals, waterfront homesites and amenities.
